How to gain access your Organization’s Plan Page

Overview

If you need to access your organization's plan or billing information on CircleCI but are not currently a user, and there are no active administrators associated with your organization, please follow the steps outlined below to gain access and understand the necessary procedures.

Step 1: Confirm Your Membership in the Organization

To access your organization in CircleCI, you must be a recognized member through your version control system (VCS), such as GitHub, Bitbucket, or GitLab.

Please ensure that you:

Create or log into your CircleCI account.
Connect your VCS account during signup or from your Account Settings.
Link your VCS organization to your CircleCI account via the Organizations page.

✅ Note: You do not need to be invited to CircleCI to connect to your organization. As long as you're a member of your VCS org, you can link to it directly.

Step 2: Understand Permission Inheritance

CircleCI permissions are inherited from your VCS provider. Access to organization settings, including billing and plan information, is controlled by your role within the VCS organization.

If you do not currently have admin permissions, please contact an existing admin or owner in your VCS organization to grant you the necessary access.

Step 3: If No Admins Are Available

In the event that there are no remaining administrators in your VCS organization (for example, due to team changes or layoffs), you will need to regain administrative control at the VCS level.

To become a billing admin for your CircleCI organization, you must first upgrade your permissions within your VCS provider. For example, on GitHub, this involves being assigned as an organization admin.

After the VCS admin permissions are updated, please refer to the CircleCI documentation on Refreshing User Permissions to ensure your CircleCI access reflects these changes.

Once administrative privileges are restored in your VCS, your CircleCI permissions will update accordingly, allowing you to manage billing and organization settings.

❓ I was invited to CircleCI but can’t see my organization. Why?
Invite-based access doesn’t always work reliably. If you're a member of the VCS org, it's better to link your account directly via the Organizations page or from Account Settings.

❓ What if I’m part of the GitHub org but still don’t see my CircleCI org?
Make sure your GitHub account is properly authorized with CircleCI. Try disconnecting and reconnecting your VCS in your CircleCI Account Settings.
