Enable 2FA for Discuss

As part of CircleCI’s SOC 2 compliance efforts and continuously bolstering our security practices more generally, we have adopted wider implementation of two-factor authentication (2FA) across many of our applications and systems, including our community forum.

Our goal is to provide our users the benefit of the additional layer of security offered by 2FA and decreasing the probability that an attacker can impersonate a user and gain access to accounts or other sensitive resources. 2FA also provides a safe and secure way for our users and customers to reset their own passwords if/when needed.

Note: To enable 2FA, you need 2FA app such as Google Authenticator, Authy.

Please follow these steps when you're ready:

1. Login to Discuss and put the password & click Continue

Note:  You log in to the forum via GitHub, and you still have access to the email address attached to the GitHub account used for the forum, you can click the `forgot password` link under preferences tab send a password reset. This will allow you to create a password for the account and enable 2FA.

2. Click New AuthenticatorScreen_Shot_2019-11-19_at_15.11.33.png

3. Add new authenticator using your 2FA app - Name and Code is required field.

4. Refresh the page to apply the change.
