[Limited Availability]Introducing the AI Assisted Pipeline Editor

Overview

We are excited to introduce a brand new pipeline iteration experience designed specifically for organizations integrated with GitHub App. Our goal is to streamline the setup process and reduce the friction that new users often encounter when running their first pipeline. This enhancement centers around an AI-driven in-app assistant, tailored to facilitate seamless configuration and debugging of your CircleCI pipelines.

What is the AI-Assisted Pipeline Editor?

The AI-Assisted Pipeline Editor is an intelligent feature integrated into the CircleCI interface to help users efficiently manage their pipeline configurations. It provides real-time support and guidance directly within the platform, making it easier for users to navigate complexities as they set up and refine their CI/CD processes.

Key Features:

  • Real-Time Assistance: Receive instant feedback and support while working on pipeline configurations and during debugging processes.
  • In-App Chat: Communicate directly with the AI assistant through in-app chat, accessible on both the Workflow and Jobs pages.
  • Guided Configuration: Step-by-step guidance helps simplify the setup for new projects and optimize existing workflows.

Who Can Access the AI-Assisted Pipeline Editor?

The new AI-assisted experience is currently available to individuals who signed up for CircleCI on or after February 21 are automatically granted access to this feature.

Current Limitations:

  • Integrated with GitHub App: Ensure your organization is integrated with the GitHub App to take advantage of this new experience as it is only available for GitHub App integrated projects/organizations.
  • In-App Environment: Access the assistant via the CircleCI platform, particularly when working within the Workflow and Jobs sections.

This feature is not currently GA and is on limited availability. As we roll out this AI-assisted feature, existing users who joined CircleCI before February 21 currently do not have access to this new pipeline iteration experience. We are gathering feedback and insights to potentially offer broader access in the future.

Security

OpenAI is used as the LLM for this feature. If this changes, this page will be updated to reflect the change, and there will be an announcement on our community forum.

The data we send to the LLM is not used for training purposes and no data is saved by the LLM. No personal information is sent to the LLM.

Final Thoughts

The AI-Assisted Pipeline Editor aims to revolutionize how new users interact with their pipelines, dramatically improving ease-of-use and reducing setup times. We are committed to enhancing this feature and welcome feedback from our users to continuously improve its functionality and integration seamlessly within your CI/CD workflows.
