If you see this message in CircleCI "You need to be an admin to change project settings", the following information may be helpful:
GitHub requires 'owner' level permissions at the org level in order to automatically grant full access to all repositories:
This gives you three options:
- Change your account to an 'owner' of the org
- If your account has 'admin' permissions at the org level, you will need to grant 'admin' permissions on a repo by repo basis
- set "Default repository permission" for your org to 'Admin (/settings/member_privileges screen). Then all members of the GitHub org will have admin permissions on all repos.
The above applies to both CircleCI cloud hosted and CircleCI server hosted on your own infrastrucuture using GitHub Enterprise.
