Bitbucket projects disappear when the organization switcher is on another workspace

A CircleCI user can belong to more than one Bitbucket workspace. The switcher shows one organization at a time. After a Bitbucket reconnect, membership can lag even when Bitbucket itself looks fine.

If company projects vanish and a personal Bitbucket workspace is what CircleCI is showing, the organization switcher is on the personal workspace. CircleCI keeps a separate organization per Bitbucket workspace. Both can be on the same CircleCI user.

For Bitbucket-connected organizations, membership comes from the Bitbucket workspace. CircleCI invite links and “join org” links often end on Page not found even when the organization exists.

Select the company workspace

  1. In the CircleCI web app, open the organization switcher in the top left and select the company workspace, not the personal one.

  2. If the company workspace is missing from that list, open it directly:

https://app.circleci.com/organization/bitbucket/WORKSPACE

Replace WORKSPACE with the Bitbucket workspace slug. Pipelines for that org are at https://app.circleci.com/pipelines/bitbucket/WORKSPACE.

If that URL loads the organization, stay on it. Projects for the other workspace stay hidden until you switch back.

After a Bitbucket reconnect

Re-authorizing Bitbucket can drop an organization from the switcher for a while. Bitbucket itself can look fine, and teammates on the same workspace can be unaffected. CircleCI has not deleted the organization.

  1. Open the direct organization URL above.

  2. Confirm you can open https://bitbucket.org/WORKSPACE with the same account you authorized.

  3. On User Settings, confirm Bitbucket is connected.

  4. Use Refresh permissions on that page when it is offered.

The organization can return without any further change once membership sync finishes. If it is still missing after a refresh, reply on your support ticket and Support can force a permission refresh on the CircleCI user.
