Why are my jobs queueing?

Concurrency Limits

If you are currently on a container-based plan for CircleCI your jobs may queue if there are not enough containers in your plan to accommodate the current workload.

Job queueing can also occur on Performance and Custom Performance plans if there are enough builds triggered at the same time that require containers beyond the concurrency limit of your plan. Scale plan customers on Linux no longer have a concurrency cap — if you are on Scale and seeing Linux jobs queue unexpectedly, see the troubleshooting steps below.

For Custom Performance plans, please contact your Account Team. Scale plan customers on Linux have no concurrency limit — if you are on Scale and experiencing macOS job queueing, contact your Account Team.
